CapitaLand’s
Investor Relations and Corporate Communications
departments work together to proactively keep all stakeholders informed and
updated. In keeping with good corporate governance
and disclosure best practice standards, we communicate
regularly with shareholders, investors, analysts,
fund managers and the media.
The Investor Relations department engages both
local and foreign investment professionals through
face-to-face meetings, teleconferences, conferences
and road shows. In 2007 alone, we met with over
680 global investors and participated in 17 conferences
and roadshows in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong,
London, Abu Dhabi, New York and Singapore. Site
visits were also conducted to provide institutional
investors a better understanding of our diverse
geographical presence. We also communicated regularly
with existing and potential investors.
The Corporate Communications department strives
to strengthen the Group’s reputation, raise
public understanding of the business, and maintain
media relations as part of the Group’s reputation
management.
This involves arranging top management to meet
up with key media in countries where we have significant
presence, generating regional and international
media coverage, and maintaining good media relations.
We invited various Singapore media to visit Bahrain
Bay, Macao Studio City and Vietnam’s Ho Chi
Minh City where CapitaLand launched its high-end
condominium project called The Vista; they were
also present at the official openings of the CapitaRetail-SZITIC
Jin Niu Mall in Chengdu and Xizhimen Mall in Beijing.
We visited various media in Japan to strengthen
ties and in turn invited them to Singapore and
China to improve rapport and give them a better
understanding of CapitaLand.
In 2007, we continued our efforts to ensure an
open and timely information flow. Besides posting
all news and announcements on our corporate website
at www.capitaland.com, we also uploaded all announcements
and news on the Singapore Exchange website. We
will revamp our corporate website to match our
online look and feel with our reputation and branding
as Southeast Asia’s biggest real estate developer.
Going forward, Investor Relations and Corporate
Communications will continually enhance the two-way
communication between investors, the media, and
CapitaLand. We will also ensure that all stakeholders
are kept informed in a timely and consistent basis. |
