Yamaha inaugurates musical instrument manufacturing facility at OneHub Chennai

Yamaha Music India inaugurated its first factory in India at OneHub Chennai on 13th December 2019. The ceremony was led by Takashi Haga, Managing Director, Yamaha Music India. The Chief Guests for the ceremony were Thiru Muruganandam, IAS Principal Secretary to Industries, Government of Tamil Nadu and Mr. Kojiro Uchiyama, Consul General of Japan to Chennai. Yamaha Music India set up a factory in phase 1 over a 28-acre space taken for India manufacturing facility. The new facility will produce portable keyboards, acoustic guitars and other professional audio equipment.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by officials from Government of Tamil Nadu, Guidance Tamil Nadu, other companies located at OneHub Chennai and Yamaha Music partners. Speaking on the occasion, Takashi Haga, MD, Yamaha Music India said, “OneHub Chennai is a strategically located industrial park close to Chennai city and is well-developed. It is suitable for plug and play operations to manufacturing companies. The approvals for this set up was extremely hassle-free and very quick, which helped us set up the plant as planned”.

8 global companies have already made OneHub Chennai their ideal destination for manufacturing and Yamaha is the fifth Japanese company to set up base in the Park. Ajinomoto, Hitachi Automotive Systems, Maruchan Ajinomoto and Takasago International have already set up base in the industrial township.
