Colourful pandas exist not in reality but in the creative world of French sculptor Marinetti. The birth of this unique brood can be traced back to 2011 when CapitaLand specially commissioned him to do a set of panda family sculptures for its prestigious Raffles City Chengdu project. Since then the brood has multiplied, including these twins made exclusively for the Interlace, one of CapitaLand’s largest residential projects in Singapore. Marinetti sees the surface of his sculptures as three-dimensional canvases on which he can freely apply bright colours and charming “graffiti”, often in the style of Picasso.
