CapitaMall Wusheng in Wuhan has seven awesome storeys of shopping, entertainment and dining
CapitaMall Wusheng in Wuhan offers eight storeys of shopping, entertainment and dining

Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei Province, is sometimes called the “Chicago of China” as it is the political, economic, financial, cultural, education and transportation hub of Central China. CapitaMall Wusheng has opened in Wuhan, adding to the hive of action in the city. CapitaMall Wusheng is CapitaMalls Asia’s latest retail, entertainment and dining offering in Central China’s most populous city.

The eight-storey CapitaMall Wusheng enjoys a prime location. It is situated along the prosperous Zhongshan Avenue in the Qiaokou District close to Wuhan’s Jianghan Bridge, the only bridge connecting the three key districts in the city. Surrounding the mall are high-end residential developments, Grade A offices, hotels and well-known tertiary institutions, which offer a good catchment of 670,000 people. The Wuguang Commercial Hub, the largest commercial centre in Wuhan, the upcoming Wangjiadun central business district and the well-known Jianghan shopping street are also a short walk way.

CapitaMall Wusheng is one of seven developments under the CapitaLand Group in Wuhan. The other six are: a residential property, The Lakeside; three shopping malls – namely CapitaMall Minzhongleyuan, which is undergoing asset enhancement; and CapitaMall 1818 and another mall in Gutian, which are being developed; and two serviced residences, Citadines ZhuanKou Wuhan and Somerset Wusheng Wuhan, which adjoins CapitaMall Wusheng. With these seven properties, the CapitaLand Group has the complete value chain in the city. Wuhan is now the Group’s fifth key market, behind Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu and Tianjin.

To celebrate its deepening presence in Wuhan, CapitaLand organised a grand launch ceremony in April, called ‘Making Its Debut in Wuhan’. The event was attended by Deputy Director, Bureau of Commerce of Wuhan, Mr Liu Danping; President and Group CEO, CapitaLand Limited, Mr Lim Ming Yan; and some 200 guests.

New-to-market Shops and Restaurants Set to Draw Shopaholics

CapitaMall Wusheng is easily accessible by the city’s transportation network. It is next to Wuhan’s largest transportation hub with nearly 50 bus lines and is only a kilometre away from the Light Rail Line 1, while the Metro Line 6 is directly connected to the mall.

Primed to attract youths, young professionals and families in the city centre, CapitaMall Wusheng has several new-to-market brands in the mall such as fashion labels GUESS, izzue, b+ab, Chocoolate, FCUK, 5CM, JL and c.p.u. Anchor fashion stores include fast-fashion label H&M; American casual brand GAP; and casual Japanese wear, UNIQLO.

At CapitaMall Wusheng, every level is themed to make shopping a cinch. B1 is devoted to lifestyle shops, children’s apparel and fast food joints for quick and easy shopping for young families. One level up, the excitement begins for the youths and young professionals with new-to-market fashion brands and hip cafes. Levels 2 to 4 offer ladies and men a wide variety of fashion brands. Electronics and entertainment products are on level 5. Foodies will be spoilt for choice with several specialty restaurants including popular hotpot chain Hai Di Lao and famous Hongkong Chinese BBQ restaurant Tai Hing at Levels 4 to 7. Level 7, the top floor, also houses a cineplex.

Enhancing the shopping experience, CapitaMall Wusheng’s design has taken into account the landscape of Hubei Province. Hubei is home to thousands of lakes. Wuhan lies at the east of the Jianghan Plain, where the Yangtze and Han Rivers intersect thus earning its name as the River City (Jiang Cheng).

United Kingdom architectural firm SPARCH, which designed the mall, has incorporated several water-themed features as a tribute to this. The features include light fixtures evoking pebbles by the river and flowing features such as spiral staircase, reminiscent of rivers and waterfalls.

Homely Residence for Both Business and Leisure Travellers

In addition to the mall, Wuhan will be welcoming another CapitaLand property into its cityscape in the second quarter of the year - Somerset Wusheng Wuhan. The serviced residence is part of the integrated development that includes CapitaMall Wusheng, giving its residents a plenty to choose from in terms of shopping, dining and entertainment. Because of its location near several offices, the apartments make great choices for those on working trips to the city. At Somerset Wusheng Wuhan, work, play and home are all within a comfortable radius.

To suit every lifestyle and need, Somerset Wusheng Wuhan offers different types of rooms, from studio to three-bedroom apartments. Five-star quality décor and fittings including a fully-equipped kitchen, en suite bathrooms and separate work and sleeping areas will satisfy the most discerning traveller. For leisure, residents can look forward to relaxing in a reading room, working out in the gym, or unwinding in the yoga room, jacuzzi or sauna.

A place to play and stay – the integrated development that is CapitaMall Wusheng and Somerset Wusheng Wuhan, is the city’s hottest new addition and will surely increase Wuhan’s status as Central China’s hub.
