Long-term residents get to receive great rewards as well. For every 30-night consecutive booking from 1 March to 1 December 2014, Ascott is giving away one free night’s stay in the form of a cash voucher redeemable at any Ascott serviced residence when residents check in between 1 April and 31 December 2014.
In addition, guests can get a night’s stay on the house when they refer friends and business associates for a minimum 30-consecutive-night stay.
30 Years of Success
The wholly-owned serviced residence arm of CapitaLand began business in 1984 with a property each in Singapore (The Ascott Singapore on Scotts Road) and France (Citadines La Défense Paris). In three decades, it has grown to include some 34,000 apartments in 231 properties across 83 cities in 23 countries. Along the way, its three brands of serviced residences - Ascott, Citadines and Somerset – have been accorded several accolades including the 'World's Leading Serviced Apartment Brand' at the prestigious World Travel Awards 2013.
Mr Lee attributes the success of the brand to a dedication to quality and its unique ability to provide a home-away-from-home experience.

Great Plans Ahead
Marking its 30 th anniversary, Ascott outlined plans to extend its international footprint. It has secured contracts to manage its first property in Myanmar with Somerset Kabar Aye Yangon and its third in Wuhan with Somerset Zhuankou Wuhan. It recently opened its first property in Frankfurt with Citadines City Centre Frankfurt. Ascott Sentral Kuala Lumpur opened in March and Ascott Midtown Suzhou will be ready in April 2014.
“To enable our guests to enjoy the comforts of home in more destinations, we plan to open 58 properties across 12 countries by 2018, of which about 20 properties are scheduled to open this year,” Mr Lee shared.
“Ascott’s focus this year is to seek investment opportunities in key markets where we have presence like Singapore, China, India, capital cities in Southeast Asia, Paris, London and key cities in Germany. We will also expand through management contracts and strategic alliances to achieve our target of 40,000 apartment units globally by 2015 and to strengthen Ascott’s position as the global serviced residence leader.”
Not only is Ascott adding to its portfolio, it is enhancing it as well. In 2010, it launched its refurbishment programme, investing close to S$100 million to renovate 20 of its properties. By 2016, another S$200 million will go to enhancing another 29 properties.
