CapitaLand tops Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark rankings with “Global Sector Leader for Diversified - Listed” award
Singapore, 25 November 2020 – CapitaLand has been named the “Global Sector Leader for Diversified - Listed” in the 2020 Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB). This marks the third time CapitaLand has won the prestigious accolade. CapitaLand is also the first real estate company in Singapore to have won this accolade thrice.
CapitaLand has also been named Asia sector leader, winning in the “Diversified – Asia - Regional Sector Leader” and “Diversified – Asia - Regional Listed Sector Leader” categories. CapitaLand also scored “A” for Public Disclosure in GRESB 2020.
CapitaLand is one of first real estate companies in Singapore to consistently be among in the top performing companies in Asia since its participation in GRESB over 10 years ago. Real estate companies in the ‘Diversified’ category have a diverse portfolio comprising a range of asset types.
CapitaLand’s ratings on GRESB 2020 and its environment, social and governance performance (ESG) is explicitly tied to the interest rates across two of CapitaLand’s sustainability-linked loans from United Overseas Bank and OCBC Bank totalling S$800 million. With CapitaLand ratings on the GRESB 2020, CapitaLand will receive interest rate savings from the reduced interest rates on these sustainability-linked loans.

Launched in October 2020, CapitaLand’s 2030 Sustainability Master Plan builds upon CapitaLand’s sustainability achievements over the past 20 years, while accelerating and amplifying its sustainability efforts for the next 10 years till 2030.
