CapitaLand provides financial support to underprivileged Grade 5 students at three CapitaLand Hope Schools.
In conjunction with CapitaLand Volunteer Day, CapitaLand staff volunteers visited the schools to donate school supplies and interact with over 1,000 students.
Ho Chi Minh City, 19 November 2018 - CapitaLand Vietnam will celebrate CapitaLand Volunteer Day with the students and teachers of 3 CapitaLand Hope Schools. Staff volunteers, including board members, senior management from CapitaLand Vietnam and CapitaLand’s wholly owned lodging business unit, The Ascott Limited (Ascott). Staff volunteers will visit 3 CapitaLand Hope Schools in the coming weeks, starting with CapitaLand Thanh Phuoc Primary Hope School in Long An province last Friday, 16 November 2018, and will continue their visits to CapitaLand Nang Yen Primary Hope School in Phu Tho province and CapitaLand Le Xa Kindergarten in Hung Yen province.
With support from CapitaLand’s philanthropic arm, CapitaLand Hope Foundation (CHF), around 1,000 students will benefit from the initiative. Focused on supporting the education needs of the students, volunteers presented the teachers and students with teaching tools, schoolbags, stationery, books, goodies, sports uniforms and toys. Kids also enjoyed interactive games and lunch served by the volunteers.
For the third year running, bursaries of about 100 million Vietnamese Dong will also be offered to the Grade 5 students of CapitaLand Hope Schools for their final year in primary school. Last year the bursaries allowed all Grade 5 students to complete their primary education and enter secondary schools.
Ms Le Thi Kim Loan, Principal of CapitaLand Thanh Phuoc Primary Hope School, said: “We greatly appreciate the continued efforts of CapitaLand Vietnam in supporting students and teachers. Together, we can create a better future for the children in our community through education.”

In addition to building CapitaLand Hope Schools, CapitaLand Vietnam and Ascott have also organised various CSR activities such as blood donation drives, tree planting, cycling day and picnic for underprivileged children.
