Over 40 CapitaLand staff volunteers and management from Singapore, China, Malaysia and Vietnam participated in a three-day volunteer expedition to CapitaLand Xingfuzhilu (幸福之路, translated as ‘Road to Happiness) Hope School located in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, China, from 17-19 September 2017.

Part of CapitaLand’s biannual International Volunteer Expedition to the communities CapitaLand operates in, the volunteer expedition sought to improve the learning and development environment of over 300 students in CapitaLand Xingfuzhilu Hope School. This is CapitaLand's 24th international volunteer expedition since the Group’s philanthropic arm, CapitaLand Hope Foundation (CHF) was set up in 2005.

In addition to carrying out gardening work in the school field, the staff volunteers assembled and installed bookshelves for 13 classrooms. A fresh coat of paint and colourful wall murals were also added to the activity and art & craft rooms. Through the signature 'CapitaLand Little Architect Programme’, the volunteers helped the students to better understand and appreciate architecture. They also imparted their knowledge, conducting science lessons to the students.  Visits to the children’s homes were also conducted to give the staff volunteers insight to the students’ lives and families. This year, a donation of over S$50,000 was also contributed to refurbish 5 multi-purpose classrooms, dormitories as well as donations of hot water dispensers, schoolbags and more
