DIY Eco-enzyme Detergent Workshop

Did you know that 665,000 tonnes of food waste were generated in 2020, accounting for 11% of the total waste generated in Singapore? Join us for this virtual workshop to learn how to reduce your environmental impact by making your own eco-enzyme detergent, conducted by teachers and students from Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School!

Eco-enzyme detergent is a multi-purpose liquid made from organic waste and is an environmentally friendly alternative. Your individual DIY craft kit, containing other materials you will need as well as a ready-to-use 500ml pump bottle Eco-Enzyme Detergent, specially prepared by teachers and students from Rainbow Centre Yishun Park school, will be sent to your preferred address 1-2 days prior to the workshop. All you need is to prepare 150g of orange peels (about 5 oranges) and get online.

    1. What do I need to prepare for this workshop? 
      Due to hygiene reasons, you will need to prepare 150g of orange peels (from about 5 oranges) for this workshop. You will also need a pair of kitchen scissors. 

    2. Can I use other citrus peels instead of oranges? 
      Yes, you may use other citrus peels such as lemon, lime or pineapple scrapes. However, we find that oranges givethe nicest scent!

    3. What can I use the Eco-Enzyme Detergent for? 
      Eco-Enzyme Detergent is a multi-purpose household liquid. You may use it as a floor cleaner, toilet cleaner, fruits and vegetables cleaner, kitchen cleaner, insect repellant or plant fertiliser!
