Esplanade Presents Moonfest 2021

Event details

17 Sep - 03 Oct
Moonfest – A Mid-Autumn Celebration is an annual traditional Chinese arts festival held in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Now in its 17th edition, Moonfest presents the opportunity for families and friends, young and old to be exposed to and rediscover the intrinsic beauty of traditional Chinese arts through an exciting line-up of free programmes and ticketed workshops.
Join us at the Esplanade during the Mid-Autumn weekend between 17-19 Sep for a series of free performances as we celebrate Mid-Autumn at Moonfest 2021. From classical Chinese opera performances from Farewell My Concubine to Chinese dance, East-West fusion music performances to a puppetry rendition of Water Margin, there is something for everyone, young and the young-at-heart! Selected programmes will also be available online from 17 Sep to 3 Oct.

Parent-child pairs can bond through our interactive workshops on lantern-making, creating a shadow play box as well as learning the meanings behind our Mandarin surnames, while individuals aged 16 and above can pick up basic xiqu techniques or enjoy Chinese ink painting at our ticketed workshops.

Fees From $18 for ticketed workshops, performances are free

Pre-Event Testing (PET) is required for this event, except for fully vaccinated patrons. Refer to website for more details.
