Starting out as a white shirt designed for innerwear for American football players, Under Armour came to existence from the problem that rose from common cotton T-shirts bunching up under sports gear. Founded by Kelvin Plank, who was then a captain on the University of Maryland football team, Under Armour sought to manufacture shirts that were soft, skin-tight, stretchy but most importantly, able to wick sweat faster than anything else out there, keeping athletes cool, dry and light.
At the very code of Under Armour’s philosophy, is a mission to make all athletes better through passion, design, and the relentless pursuit of innovation. Everything made is designed with the athlete in mind to ensure the very best quality and performance.
To date, Under Armour has expanded far beyond white inner T-shirts, and has introduced shoe lines for different sports, jackets, pants, bags and accessories. The Under Armour team works hard to build the world’s most innovative performance products.
