Why Singaporeans should walk more – it's not just for the health benefits

Singapore has invested heavily in making walking around the island easier, but heat, convenience and infrastructure gaps still discourage people from walking. On this, CLD opines that walkability is most successful when it is built into a precinct from the outset rather than treated as a standalone feature. By making the journey intuitive and enjoyable, people naturally spend more time there, which in turn supports business activity and adds vibrancy to the area. A more walkable city requires close collaboration among the authorities, developers and communities.
