Stern-Wywiol Gruppe opens new regional manufacturing hub in Nusajaya Tech Park

Singapore/Malaysia, 12 September 2018Stern-Wywiol Gruppe, a leading supplier of food and feed ingredients headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, through its manufacturing unit SternMaid Asia Pacific, is investing RM 29 million in a new manufacturing facility in Nusajaya Tech Park, located within the Iskandar Malaysia economic zone. The facility will be the group’s regional manufacturing hub in Asia Pacific, focusing on developing and producing highly-customised food ingredient systems to improve both functional and nutritional properties of food products, catered for its customers in the food and beverage industries.

Occupying approximately 42,000 sq ft in gross floor area, the manufacturing facility was officially opened on 10 September 2018. As a key manufacturing hub serving customers in the ASEAN region, the facility will complement the group’s production plants in Suzhou, China and Mumbai, India, while contributing significantly to the overall manufacturing and distribution networks of the group in the region. The group also has a regional sales, marketing and customer service centre in Singapore.

We chose Nusajaya Tech Park as the base for our regional manufacturing hub, due to its favourable geographical location and proximity to our regional office in Singapore. This new facility at Nusajaya Tech Park will allow us to offer the best possible value for our customers in the region, through shorter lead times and optimised logistics, as well as contingency plans for uninterrupted supply. We have also worked with Ascendas previously and are excited to further our working relationship with such a competent and reliable developer.”

Jointly developed by Ascendas and UEM Sunrise Berhad, Nusajaya Tech Park is an integrated tech park designed for a wide range of light to medium industries. It offers an eco-friendly and premium business environment, with integrated industrial, commercial spaces, dormitories, amenities and support facilities, all in one location. Strategically located just minutes from Singapore, the 210-hectare tech park will be built in phases over nine years. It is now home to a stellar list of multinational corporations and leading local enterprises from a wide variety of industries such as aerospace, automotive electronics, precision engineering and IT/data centres. Its key locators include Dai-ichi Seiko, GKN Aerospace, Kitz Corporation, TM One by Telekom Malaysia and Homeland Technology.
