Hand in Hand 20.10 is a community educational programme by CapitaLand Hope Foundation (CHF), the philanthropic arm of CapitaLand, that reaches out to underprivileged kids in Singapore and China. CHF will bring 2010 underprivileged kids from all over China to visit the World Expo 2010 Shanghai. In Singapore, CHF will bring 200 local underprivileged kids on a discovery trail of the World Expo through an interactive education exhibition. The aim of the campaign is to inspire these children to strive towards a better life in future, in line with the expo’s theme of "Better City, Better Life".
CHF has chosen to reach out to 2010 kids in China as the year 2010 not only marks 20 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and China, it also marks CapitaLand’s 10th anniversary. The Hand in Hand 20.10 campaign thus signifies this close friendship between the two countries, the link between CapitaLand and the communities in which it operates, the partnership between people and the balance between conservation and development. It also signifies the notion of care, solidarity and brotherhood.
Hand in Hand 20.10 Emblem
The emblem is formed with a one–line drawing of the symbols that represent Singapore, China, World Expo 2010 Shanghai and CapitaLand’s corporate social responsibility initiatives. These symbols are connected by two hands in the middle of the emblem to signify partnership and friendship. The emblem is drawn using one line to symbolise this unbroken link between Singapore and China, as well as CapitaLand and its partners.
Expedition to World Expo 2010 Shanghai
May – August 2010
CapitaLand Hope Foundation will bring 2010 underprivileged children from all over China to visit the World Expo 2010 Shanghai, in line with the exhibition’s theme of "Better City, Better Life". The children will come from CapitaLand Hope Schools in Sichuan, Guangdong, Yunnan and Zhejiang provinces. The China Communist Youth League Shanghai Committee will also nominate underprivileged children from Shanghai and nearby cities to join the CapitaLand Hope School children from other provinces. The children, most of whom have never travelled out of their own provinces, will get a chance to “see the world”. They will learn about different cultures when they visit the various country pavilions at World Expo Shanghai 2010.
