Tabata training is a type of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, designed to get your heart rate up within a short amount of time.

It originated in Japan, where Dr Izumi Tabata, a physician and researcher conducted a study to examine the effects of two training protocols—moderate-intensity endurance training and high-intensity intermittent training—on anaerobic capacity and VO2 max. The results showed that short bursts of high intensity exercise, followed by even shorter rests, improved performance.

Advice: Dress in comfortable sports attire and be ready to work out!
