The Panda Family is a set of sculptures specially created for Raffles City Chengdu. The artist intended the pandas to be invigorated with life instead of being a purely realistic representation of the animal. The family of the four pandas sits in the same posture, representing their intemporality while looking towards the future together. The male figure occupies a prime position, dominating and spreading his wisdom like a wise man. The Panda Family evokes the internationality of our time and the plurality of our civilisation, in respect of all traditions and origins.
