Movement for the Intellectually Disabled in Singapore (MINDS)
The MINDS Social Enterprise is run as part of the MINDS Employment Development Centres where vocational training is provided to adults with intellectual disabilities. They have formalised several in-house cottage industries, transforming them into platforms of meaningful work engagement. MINDS is also also greatly encouraged by the positive development in our trainees' skills set and well-being.
All net revenue earned from the sale of their products and services go towards paying a monthly allowance for their clients' work, as well as their lunch expenses while undergoing training.

Brief Introduction to MINDS Farm
At MINDS - IDEA Employment Development Centre, we provide vocational and life skills training for Adults with Special Needs. One of the many in-house projects we have at IEDC is our Farm where our beneficiaries/trainees learn and do vegetable farming. MFarm grows vegetables and herbs that are pesticide and chemical free, grown and harvested persons with intellectual disability. Till date, we have on our list over 9 different crops such as Bayam, Lettuce, Xiao Bai Cai, Baby Bok Choy, Chye Sim, Kang Kong, Pea Sprout Kai Lan etc. rotationally harvested and on sale every Tuesday of the week.
MINDS beneficiaries are engaged in the entire farming process from sowing, transplanting; to harvesting and preparation of soil etc. Through this project, it not only train and equip our beneficiaries with essential life and vocational skills, it also increase their self-confidence and feeling of accomplishment.
MFarm @ IEDC is very excited to unveil direct-to-community fresh vegetables sales to Capitaland! When you buy from us, it keeps the project going where all the proceeds goes to the beneficiaries.

Meet The Beneficiaries
Esmond Lou
Esmond is a trainee in SIA-MINDS Employment Development Centre (SMEDC) working in MINDS Bakers. He is a diligent worker who ensures that he performs his work to the highest of standards. Esmond is generally quiet in nature but as with others his age, he will exhibit the occasional playfulness when he warms up to people.
