CLI Young Achievers Scholarship

The CapitaLand Investment Young Achievers Scholarship programme provides outstanding students from Indonesia, Malaysia and the People's Republic of China (PRC) with the opportunity to study in Singapore for four years, from Secondary Three to Junior College Year Two, leading to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level certificate, or its equivalent qualification. This initiative reflects CapitaLand Investment’s (CLI) commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering educational excellence. Through this scholarship, CLI aims to support students in realising their academic aspirations, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to achieve their goals. 

 

Eligibility 

  • Citizen of Indonesia or Malaysia or the PRC
Country Current Level of study        
Indonesia           Sekolah Menengah Pertama 2 or 3 
Malaysia   Form 2 or 3 
PRC For academic readiness, scholarship recipients are strongly encouraged to complete Junior Middle 3 before arrival in Singapore.

 

  • Born between 2 January 2010 and 1 January 2013 (inclusive) 
  • Outstanding academic performance and active involvement in co-curricular activities
  • Proficient in English

     

Scholarship Coverage 

  • School and examination fees
  • A settling-in allowance and annual allowance
  • Hostel accommodation
  • Economy class airfare or travel allowance to Singapore at the start of the scholarship, and to the home country upon completion 
  • Subsidised medical benefits and accident insurance coverage
  • Hands-on experience through internships, immersive learning journeys and workshops

What is this scholarship?

How do I apply, and when is the application deadline?

I am currently in Junior Middle 2 (JM2). Am I eligible to apply for the scholarship?

To ensure academic readiness, scholarship recipients are strongly encouraged to complete Junior Middle 3 (JM3) before arrival in Singapore. Outstanding JM2 students may still submit your application. Full eligibility criteria for the scholarship are available on our website here.

Am I eligible if I participated in the Admissions Exercise for International Students and am now studying in Singapore?

No, this scholarship is for students who are citizens of Indonesia, Malaysia, and the PRC who are not currently studying in Singapore.

Is there a fee for application?

No, the application is free of charge.

How many scholarships are available?

The number of scholarships awarded depends on the quality of this year’s applications.

Can I apply for this scholarship if I already received another scholarship or financial aid?

No, this scholarship cannot be held concurrently with other scholarships or financial aid programmes. 

If I am unsuccessful in my application, can I appeal the decision?

Decisions by the CapitaLand Investment Scholarship Committee are final, and appeals will not be considered. 

If I am unsuccessful this year, can I apply again in future?

Yes, you may reapply if you continue to meet the eligibility criteria specified on our website. Each application is considered new. For the latest information, please bookmark this page.

Do I need TOEFL, IELTS. or SAT results to apply?

No, such certifications are not required. 

Do scholarship recipients need to serve a bond with CapitaLand Investment?

No, there is no bond obligation tied to this scholarship.

Selection Process

What is the selection process for this scholarship?

The selection process involves multiple stages to ensure a comprehensive review of applicants. First, all applications will be reviewed, and eligible candidates who meet our criteria will be shortlisted. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to take a selection test. Those who perform well will be invited for an online interview. At each stage, shortlisted candidates will be notified via email.

Successful applicants must also undergo a self-funded medical examination in their home country to confirm their fitness for studying in Singapore. 

What subjects will the assessments cover?

Shortlisted candidates will be notified regarding the test details.

How will I be notified if I have been shortlisted?

If you are shortlisted, you will receive an email notification after each stage of the selection process. Please check your inbox regularly.

Post Scholarship

Are there restrictions on university choices after completing Junior College studies?

No, there are no restrictions. Scholarship recipients can pursue university education studies in Singapore or overseas upon completing Junior College. 

What developmental opportunities will scholarship recipients receive?

Scholarship recipients will be able to gain practical hands-on experience through internships, learning journeys and workshops.
