Bridge+ FinTech Odyssey

Bridge+ participated and co-organised Bridge+ FinTech Odyssey as part of the annual Singapore FinTech Festival from 7th to 11th December 2020, which was the first to be held in a hybrid format since the first FinTech Festival in 2016. It was the first time Bridge+ hosted a hybrid event format as well due to the current COVID-19 situation. Nonetheless, we had the pleasure of hosting the FinTech community at our latest centre, Bridge+ @79 Robinson Road, complete with safe distancing measures and cleaning regime.

As part of our hybrid event format, we organised and recorded a panel discussion on the importance of building communities in the FinTech Ecosystem for our online audience. It was moderated by the Head of Flexible Workspace and Community Experience at CapitaLand, Marcus Lim, and featured various prominent members of the FinTech community who are also members of the Bridge+ community.

The FinTech Nation’ Book Launch

During this time, we hosted the new book launch by EY Global Emerging Markets FinTech Leader Varun Mittal and Dr Lillian Koh - ‘The FinTech Nation’ - alongside Dr. Dennis Khoo and Shadab Taiyabi at Metro@Bridge+, our event space at Level 2 79 Robinson Road. The hybrid event hosted both a physical audience, along with a special live stream for the virtual audience on our social media platforms.

UOB Finlab, one of our Bridge+ members, also organised ‘SFF x Switch SME Business Social’ and brought together various “mumpreneurs” at our Level 2 Metro 1 space to showcase their brands and products.

AI Summit Demo Day

On the second last day of Singapore FinTech Festival 2020, we organised a hybrid AI Summit Demo Day where 20 AI startups showcased their business solutions to online and offline audiences. The invitation-only audience at Bridge+ 79 Robinson Road consisted of investors, community supporters, corporate partners and entrepreneurs, and each startup only had 10 minutes to impress the audience with a strong pitch and an engaging delivery. We heard ideas from a diverse range of startups including digital private wealth solutions Kristal AI, influencer marketing platform Kobe, and even data acquisition firm Sqreem Technologies.

Guest-of-Honor

We were honoured to have Chief Fintech Officer of MAS, Mr Sopnendu Monhanty, as our guest-of-honor at AI Summit Demo Day. During his speech, he shared his insights on how the FinTech ecosystem in Singapore is evolving and how MAS is playing an active role in promoting innovation in the financial sector.

Bridge+ Reconnects

To round off an exciting week of activities, we hosted 50 FinTech community partners and leaders at our event space for a time of Bridge+ Reconnects. It was a lively atmosphere filled with warmth as this was the first face-to-face event for most attendees since COVID-19 pandemic struck.. Everyone got the chance to interact with old friends and forge new relationships. To end the evening, we toured our guests around the new Bridge+ 79 Robinson Road flexible workspace. With support of the FinTech community, Bridge+ envisions to build a FinTech Hub in Singapore’s CBD with the launch of our new centre at 79 Robinson Road. With over 56,000 square feet of flexible work and meeting spaces in its flagship centre, Bridge+ seeks to be the FinTech showcase to host Singapore’s FinTech community and signature events.
