Ho Chi Minh City, 2 June 2021 – CapitaLand Vietnam and CapitaLand’s philanthropic arm, CapitaLand Hope Foundation (CHF), together with CapitaLand’s wholly owned lodging business unit, The Ascott Limited (Ascott), have launched a "Spread Love, Share Hope" campaign to raise awareness and rally the community to support the social development of underprivileged children in Vietnam.  The campaign also marks the 10th anniversary of CHF’s Hope Schools initiative in Vietnam since its first CapitaLand Quang Yen Primary Hope School in the Phu Tho province in 2011.

The "Spread Love, Share Hope" social media campaign and book donation started on 19 May 2021.  Within two weeks, the campaign received strong response from the public, achieving CapitaLand Vietnam’s initial pledge of VND500 million (approximately US $21,000).  In support of this, CapitaLand Vietnam is doubling its pledge to VND1 billion (approximately US $43,000).  The funds raised will go to enhancing school facilities in Son Dong and Luc Nam districts of Bac Giang province.  The donated books will be delivered to CapitaLand Hope Schools across Vietnam.

The “Spread Love, Share Hope” campaign aims to rally the community to support underprivileged children in Vietnam

Mr Ronald Tay, Chief Executive Officer of CapitaLand Vietnam says: “As a responsible real estate company, CapitaLand Vietnam has been contributing to the communities in which we operate.  Corporate social responsibility is an important part of CapitaLand Vietnam’s corporate culture.  Through CapitaLand’s philanthropic arm, CapitaLand Hope Foundation, we have been supporting the education, shelter and healthcare needs of underprivileged children in Vietnam.  Since our first Hope School in Vietnam 10 years ago, we have worked closely with our network of Hope Schools and partners to ensure underprivileged students are able to receive access to proper education and have a brighter future.  CapitaLand Vietnam remains committed to the long-term development of Vietnam’s economy and the community.  Through our "Spread Love, Share Hope" campaign, we aim to raise awareness within the community on the importance of social growth and development of underprivileged children.  We thank our partners and the community who have joined us to elevate our contribution towards providing better opportunities for our beneficiaries.”

For the ‘Spread Love, Share Hope’ campaign, CapitaLand Vietnam produced an animated music video (MV) titled “The Sower”.  The MV was officially released on CapitaLand Vietnam’s Facebook Page on 19 May 2021 and aimed to help the community understand the challenges faced by underprivileged children.  The MV has since gained wide public attention with 1.7 million views and more than 38,000 shares after just two weeks of the launch.  The success of the campaign launch was contributed by singer Hoang Dung, composer Hua Kim Tuyen, key influencers like Helly Tong, as well as partner such as Utopia Creative Studio.
