Volunteerism

CapitaLand is a strong advocate of staff volunteerism, an epitome of the company's corporate values of building people to build for people and caring for the community. CapitaLand organises a series of volunteer programmes to interact with underprivileged children supported by CapitaLand Hope Foundation (CHF) and staff are recruited as volunteers to facilitate the activities.

CapitaLand is the first company in Singapore to formalise a three-day Volunteer Service Leave system and expand its leave policy to include Volunteer No Pay Leave and Volunteer Part-Time Leave in May 2006. To further promote the spirit of volunteerism, CapitaLand recognises volunteer service rendered by staff beyond office hours.

CapitaLand staff volunteered more than 126,000 hours in Asia and beyond from 2007 to 2017. In 2017, more than 1,700 CapitaLand staff volunteered about 15,500 hours1.

As part of CapitaLand's efforts to recognise and acknowledge staff's social contribution as volunteers for charitable and green-related causes, CHF will make a donation to a registered Singapore/ China-based children's charity of the staff's choice if the staff has taken all three days of Volunteer Service Leave within the year.

CapitaLand staff volunteered more than 111,000 hours in Asia and beyond from 2007 to 2016. Through the stories of the beneficiaries, we see how CapitaLand volunteers helped them and their children to have a better living environment where the children can concentrate with a proper study corner
