CapitaLand Development and UOL Group advance with the collective acquisition of Thomson View Condominium

Singapore, 1 July 2025 – CapitaLand Development (CLD), the development arm of CapitaLand Group, and UOL Group (UOL) announced today that the High Court of Singapore has granted the sale order for the collective acquisition of Thomson View Condominium, marking a key milestone in one of Singapore’s most significant en bloc transactions in recent years.
The proposed acquisition, at S$810 million, is a 50:50 joint venture between CLD and UOL in November 2024. The sale had already received the support and consent from at least 80% of the residents of Thomson View Condominium, by strata area and share value.
In a joint statement, Mr Ronald Tay, CEO of CLD (Singapore), and Mr Liam Wee Sin, Group Chief Executive of UOL, said: “We are pleased to expand our joint venture portfolio with this strategic acquisition. The progress of this sale puts us on track to leverage our combined expertise to rejuvenate and contribute to the vibrancy of this prime estate.”
Strategically located along Upper Thomson Road, the approximately 5-hectare Thomson View Condominium site boasts panoramic views and exceptional connectivity. The development sits right at the doorstep of Upper Thomson MRT Station on the Thomson-East Coast Line, offering seamless access to the city. Residents will enjoy close proximity to lifestyle amenities such as at Thomson Plaza, highly sought-after academic institutions including Ai Tong School located within a 1 km radius, and a comprehensive network of parks and nature reserves.
