Singapore, 28 October 2026 – CapitaLand Investment Limited (CLI), a leading global real asset manager, is accelerating business transformation through artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainability innovation. CLI has been selected as an inaugural participant in Champions of AI and launched the fifth edition of CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge (CSXC) together with CapitaLand Development (CLD). The two initiatives will further strengthen CLI’s capabilities as an AI-powered real asset manager and advance sustainability innovation across the industry.

CLI is among the inaugural participants in Champions of AI, a flagship national initiative by Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) and Digital Industry Singapore to support leading Singapore-based companies in transforming their businesses with AI. The programme was launched at Enterprise Singapore’s Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) 2026 by Guest-of-Honour Mr Gan Kim Yong, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Trade and Industry (Trade).

AI is transforming how we invest, operate and create value as a global real asset manager. Over the next three years, CLI will advance how capital is sourced, deployed and recycled across its global platform through targeted investments in AI, data and workforce transformation. Our focus is to sharpen investment insights and strengthen operational execution while retaining human judgement and strong governance. Through Champions of AI, we aim to accelerate enterprise-wide adoption and equip our people to translate technology into measurable business outcomes.

Innovation is critical to addressing the sustainability challenges facing the built environment. Through CSXC, we connect real-world challenges with promising solutions from around the world, providing innovators with opportunities to pilot them across CapitaLand’s properties globally. By bringing together industry partners, ecosystem players and innovators, we aim to accelerate the adoption of solutions that can support the built environment's transition to a lower-carbon and more resilient future.

Scaling AI adoption across CLI

CLI is advancing towards becoming an AI-powered real asset manager, embedding AI into its core workflows. Through Champions of AI, CLI will further scale the use of AI across its investment, asset management and operating businesses to sharpen investment insights, optimise asset performance, elevate customer experience and improve productivity.

CLI’s Casey chatbot for retail has handled more than 370,0001 chat sessions to date, while Cubby, The Ascott Limited's ChatGPT-powered digital concierge, has responded to more than 1 million guest enquiries since its launch in 2023. CLI’s Self-storage AI Sales Agent has reduced the sales cycle time by an estimated 60%.

As part of its commitment to building an AI-ready organisation, CLI is preparing its workforce for AI-enabled work through AI fluency, reskilling, job redesign and governed citizen development programmes. More than 5,200 AI training attendances were facilitated between January and mid-October 2026, supporting the responsible and scalable adoption of AI across the business.

CLI's global ecosystem spans more than 270 cities in over 40 countries, creating significant opportunities to scale AI-powered transformation across its businesses and customer platforms.

Advancing sustainability innovation for the built environment

The fifth edition of CSXC will source emerging solutions and technologies that address real-world sustainability challenges in the urban environment. Innovators will have opportunities to pilot, validate and potentially scale their solutions across CapitaLand’s global portfolio, supported by up to S$675,000 in funding.

Since 2021, CSXC has received more than 2,400 entries from over 90 regions, with 40 innovations piloted or planned at 58 sites across six countries as at 28 October 2026.

This year’s challenge comprises seven areas spanning building operations and development, decarbonisation, water resilience, circularity, low-carbon construction, climate resilience and health, safety and wellness in buildings. The challenge statements were curated by CLI and CLD, reflecting the opportunities and needs across the real estate life cycle.

Collaboration with industry and ecosystem partners continues to be a key part of CSXC. Temasek Foundation is a new partner for this edition, with continued support from Exclusive Partners, the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and EnterpriseSG. Relevant submissions from CSXC and The Liveability Challenge, presented by Temasek Foundation, may be shared across both platforms to be considered for mentorship and pilot opportunities at CapitaLand properties, creating additional pathways for promising solutions to be developed and scaled. The Demo Day will be held at BCA's Built Environment Innovation Hub at the BCA Braddell Campus, while EnterpriseSG will continue to sponsor two Special Recognition Awards.

The top five CSXC finalists will be mentored ahead of the Demo Day in August 2027, where they will pitch for the opportunity to pilot their solutions at selected CapitaLand properties globally.
