In 1973, Mr Paulus Lee founded “SunSang” and an ivory factory in Hong Kong. Leveraging its fashionable designs and exquisite carving craftsmanship, SunSang quickly opened its own specialty stores in Japan and the United States. However, in the mid-1970s, the international restrictions on ivory trade posed a major challenge to the industry, forcing SunSang to undergo a transformation. The Company promptly shifted its focus from ivory carving to the production of gem-set jewellery, successfully reinventing itself as a specialist in the manufacture of gemstone and 18K gold jewellery.
